Good morning, Prescott!
It looks like another winter storm is on its way! We’re keeping an eye on the forecasts, which suggest that snow could start affecting our area late Thursday afternoon or early evening. The National Weather Service is predicting up to 2 ½ inches in the lower elevations, with potentially more in the higher residential areas. Our Street Maintenance crews are already gearing up and making plans to respond promptly.
While this storm doesn’t seem to be overly severe, it will bring some strong wind gusts, expected to reach around 40 mph. It’s always wise to be prepared for any situation. There’s a chance of power outages, so make sure your electronic devices are charged and consider having an alternative heat source ready. Additionally, it’s a good idea to stock up on essential medications and have a three-day supply of food and water on hand. Please try to limit travel to only what’s necessary and be ready for winter driving conditions.
We’ll keep monitoring the weather and will provide updates as things change, including twice-daily updates on the City website and our social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
As always, we appreciate the cooperation of all our valued citizens and visitors during these winter weather events.
Brian Scott,
Street Maintenance Superintendent
